Energize raises £8,000 for Mental Health
Everyone at EnergizeGroup is proud and delighted to share that our fundraising initiative has now raised over £8,000 ($10,000 USD) for mental health charity MIND, whose local branch will benefit directly from funds donated by Energize employees.
The workplace can have varying effects on our mental health – from stresses and pressures, to successes and contentment – and as a recruitment consultancy, supporting employers and employees in the employment market, a healthy mind is of vital importance. EnergizeGroup employees in the UK, Europe and United States have collectively focused our efforts on MIND, as voted upon by our Charity & Wellbeing Committee, taking part in the following initiatives:
- Nautica Malibu Triathlon
- Los Angeles Tough Mudder
- 2019 Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run
- Christmas Charity Auction
“Thank you all for your kindness,” said Joanna Huddart, Fundraising Manager at MIND Manchester.
“We can’t thank you enough for your support, which makes a real difference to our local mental health services.”
MIND Manchester rely on donations and grants to operate, and the moneys raised will contribute towards services for 15-25 year olds including individual counselling, advice & welfare, volunteering & training, befriending & mentoring, as well as Mental Health Awareness sessions in schools, colleges and universities, as well as an internet cafe.
“Mental health issues can cause devastation to those who suffer from it and also to those close to them,” said Craig Molloy, EnergizeGroup Managing Director in UK & Europe.
“Anxiety and depression is unfortunately something that someone in my immediate family has suffered with for the last 20 years, so I know personally how it can wreck someone’s life. The crippling illness cannot be seen and therefore hard to comprehend, I’ve found it difficult as a positive person to understand the negativity, low confidence and inability to live life to the max. With a record number of people suffering from Mental Health issues and lack of resource and budget cuts, running 10k for Manchester Mind is the least I could do.”
The fifth iteration of our much-anticipated Charity Auction featured sporting memorabilia autographed by Wayne Rooney and Anthony Joshua, raised almost £6,000 in a single evening. Energize would like to extend a special acknowledgement of appreciation and gratitude to the multitude of local and national businesses that so magnanimously donated prizes to help make the event such a success, including:
Archie’s, Barbers at Work, Bill’s Restaurant, Boomerang, Brookside Pottery, CB Fit, Cheshire Brows, David Lloyd Leisure, DC Cosmetics, East Coast Concepts, Flannigans, G4 Physio, Gusto, Hotel Football, James Livingstone, John Yates Salon, MalMaison, Manchester Arena, Modern Nails, Notebook Repair, Nuffield Health, Revolución De Cuba, Shrigley Hall, TeamSport, Tesco, Three Little Pigs, XLOS, and Ye Olde Cock.
