Five Year Club: Edward Dooks
Energize is delighted that Divisional Manager Edward Dooks has reached a milestone achievement of five years of service and professional success with the company
Joining Energize in 2013 as a recruitment consultant, Edward has now achieved three promotions during his tenure and we’re hugely proud that he’s experienced a fulfilling career here with us. We spoke briefly with Edward to uncover the secrets of his success, and his plans for the future…
Hi Edward! Can you recall what first appealed to you about working at Energize?
ED: “I was very attracted by the company’s focus and development of an international market, and the challenges of working exclusively in a high-demand sector. The directors’ close involvement with the daily running of the business also gave me huge encouragement; business growth and being named ‘Best Company to Work For’ by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation are testament to their immediate presence within the company. There’s a great culture at Energize.”
Can you identify how you’ve achieved this success and longevity?
ED: “Upon joining the company my remit was to expand our staffing solutions offering to end-user clients in industries across Germany. This is a truly ideal project for me; Energize was already established as a preferred supplier to SAP SE, as well as to major management consultancies like Accenture and Capgemini, and I wanted the challenge of expanding the successful model to a new and larger customer-base.
“I also received an ideal educational background to support my recruitment career. My degree in International Business from Manchester Metropolitan University included living, working and studying in Nijmegen under the Erasmus+ student exchange Programme. Living in the Netherlands and travelling across the border to Germany gave me a substantial appreciation of both linguistic and cultural practices, as well as socio-economic and political factors. This first-hand life experience prepared me well for working across countries and interacting with a wide variety of people – an aspect of my career that I hugely enjoy.”
What does the future hold for you personally, and the SAP employment market?
ED: “SAP is now the world’s foremost Enterprise Resource Planning system in part thanks to the company’s own ambition and agility. Regular acquisitions of start-up technologies has empowered end-users to move entirely to a cloud-based platform, and made SAP the forefront German software embracing Industry 4.0 and IoT, is hugely exciting for the future of technology in Europe. The sector can only grow and bring in more talented people.
“Here at Energize I’m building my own team of Consultants and helping them develop their own careers. Alongside our high levels of client and candidate satisfaction, I’m very excited to bring a more diverse range of products and services available to our customers across Germany in 2018.”
