The company is currently turning over around 80m and operating with a profit of around 17m. Within the next 3 years there are plans to double the profit figure as well as a projected turnover of around 150m. It is estimated that 10% of UK insurance goes through our client with 24 insurance clients in the UK and generally speaking they are the biggest supplier globally to the Insurance market.
The company is still privately held and is backed by a US private equity house called Hellman & Friedman who have invested $14bn in 18 companies globally
The Role:
The role is for a Business Development Executive and essentially the role is a new business role selling e-business solutions into the General Insurance vertical (companies like Axa,Aviva,Endsleigh,Zurich etc). Our client is looking for someone with a 5-10 year track record of selling solutions into the General Insurance vertical. This will be covering the whole of the UK and therefore they are flexible in terms of location as this person will only be required in one of the national offices once or twice a week. The role will include C levels of negotiation within these Insurance companies and therefore our client is looking for someone comfortable at these levels of engagement. Targets will start at £1m per annum with this rising to £3m in year 2 which stems from deal sizes that vary from £250k to £5m.
The Candidate:
This person will be naturally enthusiastic and will have all the traits of being a self starter in terms of work ethic. A proven track record of success is very important over a 5-10 year period of software solution sales into the General Insurance vertical. Their best sales person came from an Internal Sales background and the main reason for their success was put down to a fantastic work ethic. In essence they are looking for someone who can use their enthusiasm in order to build long term relationships.
