Publicis sales drop 1.2% in Q1 2017

PublicisAhead of his retirement in May, Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy cited geopolitics and corporate caution for the continuing decline.

“Clients are still in wait-and-see mode and are quite troubled by the geopolitical situation,” said Lévy.

“Especially in the US, there is euphoria in the stock market but no correlation with the growth of companies and growth of the economy. Most clients have solid balance sheets and robust financial possibilities but at the same time are quite cautious when it comes to investment.”

Publicis posted a net loss of €527m in 2016 following difficulties with a merger of digital agencies Razorfish and SapientNitro.
