We’re delighted to welcome David Webb to the Energize team!
David has a wealth of experience in the recruitment industry and is a great fit as a Lead Consultant with our Contracts team; so here’s a quick Q+A to get to know our new colleague.
Hi David! What attracted you to join Energize?
“I’ve been a specialist recruitment consultant for several years prior to joining Energize and have a fairly extensive network of people within the industry. What struck me about Energize is that every single person I spoke when researching the company had only good things to say. This was very significant for me, as well as the initial impression I got from my first interview the managing director, and the opportunity within the market that I was offered.”
What was your first impression of Energize?
“Wholly positive. From my first interview with Craig I could tell that he is someone who genuinely cares about his staff. This has become even more evident over the months I’ve now spent here. Everybody in the business is friendly and welcoming, and I really like the “Speed Dating” onboarding where all new starters are invited to go speak to everyone within the business for an informal introduction.”
What have you learnt so far in your journey at Energize?
“I’ve learnt loads since starting here. The employment sector I am now responsible for is far less established than compared to my work in my previous role, which means I have the opportunity to take ownership of something new. I’ve also learnt considerable new skills around client and candidate generation, further technical detail within IT programming and software development, and also the employment market in Belgium, which has its own specific challenges I’ve learnt to overcome!”
What motivates you?
“Success and the chance to develop my career. Energize really taps into this as well with a highly-structured progression plan, outlining exactly what I need to do in order to be promoted all the way to Director level.”
If you weren’t a Recruitment Consultant, what job would you be doing?
“Property mogul! Ha, if I’m honest this isn’t something I’ve thought about much. I love working in recruitment and still believe I’ve got loads to learn. I also love the fact that every day is different and brings new challenges to overcome. The buzz from finding solutions that businesses had not yet considered is amazing and I can see myself in this industry for a long time.”
Which famous person do you admire and why?
“Richard Branson. I’ve always been impressed with his ability to grow his business empire and maintain a largely positive reputation.”
What advice would you give to someone thinking of applying to Energize?
“If you’ve made the decision that recruitment is the right career for you, then you can’t go far wrong with Energize. When I’m interviewing prospective candidates I want to see that they’re driven to succeed, have an ability to learn new things and have a genuine interest in the company I am working with.”
